People call my portraits sensitive, emotional, evocative, and expressive. To be honest, though, it only ever feels to me like I am painting things that are right there on the surface, completely matter-of-fact. If I capture anything extra, then I believe that is because we are emotional. We are both warm and cool. Our eyes are different colors in different lights. When we look into each other’s faces, everything in the background turns into jumbles of shapes and hues. We all emit energy as plain as day, ready for anyone with a brush and an observant eye to render faithfully onto a canvas.
I don’t have credentials. Just a lengthy and expanding body of work.
I used to split time between painting and other pursuits, but after our youngest kiddo came along, I just started doing this all the time.
Please check out my home page for recent examples of the kinds of paintings I love to do.
